Rumbling Roxburgh

4 DAYS/ 5 NIGHTS

The RUMBLING ROXBURGH ride is the ideal South Island adventure experience consisting of 55% dirt. This ride consists of 4 days of amazing riding, starting and finishing in Roxburgh every day, so you don't have to change accommodation every night.

5 nights accommodation is included in the ride in Roxburgh, providing opportunity to look around some amazing New Zealand towns, partake in outdoor activities and enjoy the local hospitality.

Experience a large range of riding conditions riding through areas such as Nevis Valley, Piano Flats and Old Man Range. Included is a trip down to Queenstown where we will be able to see the "touristy" side of New Zealand.

There will be extra time after some day's riding where riders can choose to  do other activities or just stay at the accommodation and relax.

Riders will be picked-upfrom Queenstown, before midday, the morning before the ride starts and dropped-off on Day 5 in Queenstown.

The Ride

Night 1 - We will pick you up from Queenstown and take you to our accommodation for the night where you will meet your ride and the rest of the riding group for your trip.

Day 1 - The Obelisk and Old Man Range.  Leaving Roxburgh we head north to where we start our start our climb to The Obelisk. After reaching The Obelisk we ride south to join the Old Man Range and head towards Duffers Saddle before riding north towards Cromwell along a small section of the Nevis Track. We head south from Cromwell along the scenic tar-seal route back to Roxburgh. This is a good introduction to South Island adventure riding. 180 KM-  50% Dirt

Day 2 - Lake Onslow and Old Dunstan Road. We head east from Roxburgh to to join Lake Onslow road and work our way up to Old Dunstan Road where we ride towards Moa Creek. At Crawford Hills we turning towards Alexandra and en our day's riding in Roxburgh . 180KM - 70% Dirt

Day 3 - Nevis Road. We ride north to Clyde where we will access the Nevis Road. We ride in a south westerly direction towards Garston until we meet up with State Highway 6 where we ride north towards Queenstown. From Queenstown our ride home is a relaxing one with breathtaking scenery all the way to Roxburgh. 305KM - 40% Dirt

Day 4 - Piano Flats.  We head south to Waikaka where we will stop for refreshments before taking on Piano Flats and Waikaia Bush Road. 180KM - 55% Dirt

Day 5 - Drop-off at Queenstown.

If there is time available on any of the riding days and riders would like to ride some of the local tracks that are not included in the schedule, our guide will be more than happy to accommodate. Such tracks include Serpentine track which is  recommended for more experienced dirt riders.

EXCLUSIONS

  • Motorcycle riding gear - The individual rider is responsible for having the appropriate rider safety gear including a appropriate helmet with visor or goggles, gloves, boots and clothing.

  • Meals - No meals are included in this ride. Each stop offers a variety of dining options. All meals are at individuals cost.

  • The accommodation after you have been dropped off.

  • Flights to and from Queenstown.

  • Personal Items
