The TUNNELS ride is an epic North Island adventure experience consisting of 50% dirt. This ride consists of 4 days of excellent riding, starting and finishing in Wellington , taking in some of the best back roads, tracks and tunnels on the North Island.
5 Nights in the ride with overnights in Waitotara Valley, National Park and Whangamomana providing opportunity to look around some amazing New Zealand towns and enjoy the local hospitality.
Experience the North Island's large range of riding conditions from breathtaking tunnels , riding through bush tracks and passing through Whangamomona, a must-see on New Zealand's North Island.
Riders will be picked-up the day before the tour starts from Wellington airport/hotel and dropped-off the day after it finishes in Wellington.
This ride has a “50/50” focus with some tarseal riding and some gravel roads and tracks to keep you on your toes.

The Ride
Day 0 - You will be picked up from Wellington Airport or a hotel and taken to your accommodation where you will familiarise yourself with your motorcycle, meet other riders on your ride and stay the night.
Day 1 - Waitotara Valley to Ohakune. Leaving the valley we head out along a "back road". We travel to Ohakune the long way round. 266KM- 50% Dirt
Day 2 - Ohakune to Whangamomona. We head out early to take on the 42nd Traverse on our way to Whangamomona via back roads and tracks. 200KM - 60% Dirt
Day 3 -Whangamomona to Whangamomona. after breakfast we head out to explore some of the local tunnels and back roads the area has to offer before returning to Whangamomona . 235KM - 55% Dirt
Day 4 - Whangamomona to Waitotara Valley. we head out via the Old Whangamomona track with some detours on our way back to the Waitotara Valley. 240KM - 45% Dirt
Day 5 - We leave for Wellington after breakfast with a 3.5 hour drive south to the capital where we will drop you off at your hotel or the airport.
